Payers: Requesting Enrollment

What is Enrollment?

Enrollment is the process of getting approved by a specific insurance payer so you can use their claim-related services.

Before you can submit claims, receive Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), or perform eligibility verification, the payer must first recognize you as an authorized billing provider.

When you request enrollment, required information and documentation are submitted to the payer for review. This may include:

  • your NPI
  • Tax ID
  • business details
  • any payer-specific forms

Once approved, your enrollment enables key billing features within Doulado.

Why Enrollment Is Required

Enrollment allows you to:

  • Submit insurance claims to the payer
  • Receive ERAs (electronic remittance details) directly in Doulado
  • Verify client eligibility through supported payer connections

Without completed enrollment, these services may not be available for that payer, even if they are configured in your account.

Enrollment ensures that claims are processed correctly, remittances are delivered electronically, and eligibility checks are properly linked to your provider credentials.

Some payers require explicit enrollment before electronic services can be utilized. An ☝️ icon on the payer row indicates enrollment is required for one or more services.

Enrollment Types

  • Claims: Required for electronic claim submission.
  • Remittances (ERA): Enables the automated processing of electronic remittance advice.
  • Eligibility: Required for real-time verification of client coverage.

When enrollment is requested, a support ticket is created and the support team will be in touch with specific instructions for the payer, which may involve:

  • Completing a form
  • Enabling options in provider and payer portals

Fee Disclosure: Enrollment services (Claims, Remittances, and Eligibility) typically incur a fee per service as defined by the business's active subscription plan.
