Our philosophy

Our mission is to improve the outcomes for all types of community-led care, including birth, end-of-life, and everywhere in between. We do that by supporting and enabling doulas to provide better care for their clients and community.

We have learned through the process of creating Doulado that success in doula work comes in a variety of forms, and money isn't the best gauge of what is successful and what isn't. Sometimes the needs for care simply outweigh the financial means of those who need it, and we have been humbled by the doula community's ability to step up and provide care anyway. Many offer a sliding scale to their clients, and we want to take the same approach; after all, it's our job to care for the doulas.

Simple put, we place importance on sustainable business practices, so we can enable our doulas to provide care over the long term and not have price be the barrier that stops loving and life-changing care.

Sustainability doesn't come from one place; it comes from a variety of factors, people, and goals all working together in unison to achieve the right balance so that we all chip in, and we all win.

Just like their clients, doulas go through seasons of their life and business. We want to be there as a partner through those seasons. Our hope is that when we have helped someone get to a point of success and abundance, they feel like they are in a position to support others in the community, they can.
