Seat Management and Billing
Understand how billing is handled for your team and how seats determine the number of active members you can have.
Assuming Ownership (Transfer Billing)

As a Team Owner, you can take over billing for a team by becoming the Paying Owner. To do this, you must:
- Have an active subscription plan with Team features enabled
- Have enough available seats to cover all active team members
- Not have a plan that is set to cancel
Once you become the Paying Owner and assume billing responsibility:
- Your subscription will cover the team’s features and members
- You’ll be responsible for managing seats across all teams you own
Seat Management
Seats determine how many active team members your plan can support, as the Paying Owner.
Available Seats = Total Seats Purchased − Active Members

The total number of unique active users across all teams you own
- If the same person is in multiple teams, they only count once.

The number of remaining spots you can assign to team members
You can adjust your seat count at any time using the Change Seats option.

You can’t reduce your seats below your current number of active members.
- To lower your seat count, you’ll need to set members as inactive or remove them first.
