Date and Controls

The calendar shows a slice of time, depending on you selected view. The controls will shift the time window shown:

Left/Right Arrows

You can use the left and right arrows to move through your calendar:

  • Month View: Moves forward or backward by one month
  • Week View: Moves forward or backward by one week
  • Day View: Moves forward or backward by one day

These controls make it easy to quickly navigate to past or upcoming dates.

Date Selector

The Date Selector lets you choose a date to view your calendar. Based on your selected view, the calendar will adjust automatically:

  • Month View

    Displays the full month, including surrounding days to complete each week

  • Week View

    Shows a full week from Sunday to Saturday

  • Day View

    Focuses on the selected day only

Date Title

The Date Title shows the current date range you’re viewing in the calendar. It updates based on your selected view:

  • Month View:

    Displays the month and year - MMM YYYY (e.g., Dec 2025)

  • Week View:

    Shows the full date range for the week - MMM DD [YYYY] - [MMM] DD YYYY, where pieces in brackets […] are optional, and show only if the start and end dates differ in those aspects. (e.g., Nov 23 - 29 2025 or Dec 28 2025 - Jan 3 2026)

  • Day View:

    Displays the selected day - MMM DD YYYY (e.g., Nov 23 2025)

Today Button

Use the Today button to quickly return to the current date without needing to select it manually.

Calendar Views

Month View (Default)

Week View/Day View

The month view shows an entire calendar month, while the week and day views are identical (except for the time window they show).

The following is expected for each view:


Month View (Default) Week View / Day View
Event Details Event title is shown (only) Event title is shown, along with time window and event name
Stacking / Order Stacked vertically within the day, and no time information is visually apparent other than the order of occurrence in the day Shown in the time block they occupy
Overlapping Visually separated (not indicated) Overlapped horizontally to occupy “swim lanes” as needed
Multi-Day Events Broken into separate visual events (e.g., Overnight (1/2), Overnight (2/2) Same
On-Call Windows Stacked on top of the day cells Stacked at the top of the view
Navigation Day label can be tapped to navigate to the day view for that day Day label can be tapped to navigate to/from the day view for that day, or back to the week view
Whitespace Action Tap to create new events for that day Tap or drag to create new events for that day and optionally start/end time block
Moving Events Events can be moved between days (time stays the same) Events can be moved between days and times
