Label Inheritance & Transfers
Label data is managed through three primary mechanics:
- Initialization
- Inheritance
- Name-Matching
These help ensure your account starts with the right setup and that your data stays organized when moving between accounts.
Initial Setup (Onboarding)
New businesses are seeded with labels from the Global Library to save time:
- Self-Sign Up: During the signup process, you choose which sets of global labels to import into your library.
-
Team Invitations: If you join via an invite from a team, the label selection process during onboarding is bypassed.
Instead, it checks the Service Areas offered by that team and automatically copies the matching global labels to the newly created personal business.
Client Transfers
When moving a journey to another business, the system uses Name-Matching to preserve data:
- For every label on the journey, the system looks for a label in the destination business with the exact same name.
- If a name match is found, the new label from the new business will be the replacement.
- If no match exists in the new business, the label is removed to keep the destination's library clean.
Team Creation
When a Team is created, the new team business automatically inherits the entire category and label structure from the owner's original personal business.
Scheduler & Workflow Copying
Similar label matching logic is used when duplicating a booking pages and workflows:
- Labels referenced in the original booking page are matched by name.
- If matching labels exist in the destination, they are applied to the copied page.
- Missing labels result in no label matching being applied to that booking page.
