September 2025
New changes have come to Doulado this month, and we are so excited to share them with you! Take a look below at all the new features and updates that have been implemented. From improved messaging and mobile enhancements to smarter claim and appointment management, these updates are designed to make your Doulado experience smoother, faster, and more intuitive than ever.
#1 Notable Changes
Additional Clients on Events!!: You can now include multiple clients in one event in Doulado! This is perfect for group appointments, classes, workshops, or shared visits where more than one client is attending.
When creating an event, simply type in the names of the clients you’d like to add. Each client will see the event on their own schedule (with only their personal details), and it will also appear in their individual visit log. This makes it simple to manage group sessions—without the hassle of creating duplicate events.

Please note: In this first phase, clients will need to be manually added by doulas to a single event. At this time, multiple clients cannot book the same time slot directly through a booking page.
- Updated Services: Services in the client’s Services tab will now automatically update to reflect the correct quantity whenever a previously paid invoice is edited. If additional services or hours are added, the services count will reflect the updated invoice totals!
- Client Status Filter on Insurance: A new filter has been added to the Insurance page in the Billing section. Along with status and searching for a name, you can now filter by client status.
- Appointment Buffer Time: We’ve updated appointment buffer times to make scheduling more flexible for clients. The system will now prevent a new appointment from being booked through a booking page if doing so would create a gap between two existing appointments that is shorter than the longest buffer time of those surrounding appointments. This ensures there’s always enough time between appointments while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.
#2 Claims & Remittances Changes
- Export All Claims: Claims can now be exported using the Export All button at the bottom of the Claims page. This will generate a CSV file containing all claims created, which you can use for reporting or tax purposes. Previously, the export was limited to the first page of claims, but it now includes all pages you are viewing.
- "Copy From" in Claims: When creating a new claim, you can now save time by copying billing provider details from a past claim. A new Copy From option appears next to the Client Name field, and can copy information from the following:
- By default, it pulls from the most recent claim for that client.
- You’ll also see up to 10 other claims from that account to choose from (both for that client or other clients).
- If you prefer not to copy any details, simply select (Don’t Copy) at the top of the dropdown.
If the selected "copy from" claim belongs to the current client, all fields will be copied. Otherwise, only limited fields will be copied. To view the claim you selected to copy from, click "view" for a popout of that claim!
Manually Change Status of a Claim : You now have the ability to manually update the status of a claim when needed. Occasionally, special circumstances may arise where the system doesn’t automatically detect a status change. To address this, the button inside a claim—previously labeled Submit—has been updated to Process and now includes several options.
From the Process menu, you can choose to:
- Submit to payer / Revise as draft
- Mark as accepted
- Mark as rejected
- Mark as paid
- Mark as denied
- More Detailed Remittances: Previously, the remittance view and PDFs displayed only limited information. We’ve updated them to include more relevant claim details—such as patient name and service dates—for easier review and record-keeping.
- Remittance Notifications: You’ll now receive an email notification whenever a new remittance is available and matched to your business. This update is designed to improve communication and keep you informed in real time. If you prefer not to receive these alerts, you can toggle them on or off in your notification preferences.
- Funds Balance Deposit Limits: We’ve implemented limits on how much can be deposited into the Funds Balance at one time:
- Solo accounts: up to $100 per deposit
- Team accounts: up to $100 plus $10 for each team member
If you enter an amount that exceeds your account’s limit, an alert will appear showing the maximum deposit allowed for your account or team.
#3 Improved Messaging
- Collapse Message Input Field: When text formatting was added to messages, the larger text box sometimes hid parts of the message thread. You can now collapse the text box to review the conversation, then expand it again to continue typing—making it easier to see more of the message timeline while replying.
- Mark Message Unread: Previously, opening a message would automatically mark it as Read with no way to revert. Now, if you’re not able to address a message right away, you can change its status back to Unread, by clicking the message icon in that row—restoring the notification so you don’t lose track.
- Linking Recipients: When sending a new message or adding to an existing thread, you can now easily add linked recipients, like a partner, spouse or additional contact linked to that client's profile. When selecting the Add Recipient button, a larger menu will appear where you can search for both clients and providers in their respective menus. There is an Add button available to add one or more clients and/or providers at the same time. When all of the desired recipients have been added, you can close out of that box and type your message!
🚨You can now send messages to a specific group of clients instead of messaging “all clients", using this update! Simply start a message from one client’s profile, then easily add additional clients to the conversation.
All existing message threads, whether a group or individual client, can still be viewed and continued in the Message Center.
#4 Notification Updates
- Email Notifications to Doulas: Email notifications directed towards doulas (24 hour appointment reminders, visit status reminders, etc) will now only be sent when:
- The doula’s account is active and/or,
- The team owner (for team accounts) is active
These updates help prevent notifications from being sent to inactive team members or providers, keeping communication relevant and streamlined.
Change Default Reply Email Address and Sender Name: Previously, emails sent on behalf of doulas were delivered from app@doulado.co. These emails will now come from no-reply@doulado.co, helping ensure that any replies are directed back to the doula who originally sent the message, rather than Doulado’s support team. Additionally, the sender name is now customizable, allowing you to display your business name instead of the default “Doulado”, that which emails previously came from!
You can update the "Email Sender Name" in your business settings, either under your profile or team settings. This name will appear as the sender on all outgoing email notifications from Doulado to your clients. You can customize the "Reply-To Email" per email notification under your Templates>Notifications.

#5 Mobile View Adjustments
- Doulado on the Go—Easier Than Ever: Using Doulado on a mobile device just got simpler! Our mobile website has a fresh new look with a more user-friendly interface, and you can easily navigate between pages using the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Key Improvements:
- Messaging Made Easier: No more horizontal scrolling—text formatting tools are now fully accessible without left-to-right scrolling.
- Better Filtering: On the main client list, paperwork list, and visit log, you can toggle filters to optimize your mobile view. You can also toggle “show team clients” while viewing your personal clients on mobile.
- Revamped Paperwork Editor: Longer text is now fully visible in text fields, so nothing gets hidden.
#6 Document Changes
- Document & Form Labels: We have implemented a labeling system for documents that can organize forms into categories. You can click on the small 3 dot menu in the document or form tile, and select "label" to add 1 or more labels to the template. You can use these labels to categorize and filter documents when searching through the Documents and Forms in your Paperwork templates.
- Error Message Now Shown: Previously, when submitting paperwork with required fields left blank, Doulado did not automatically scroll to the missing fields. This sometimes made it difficult for clients to locate and correct the issue. With our recent update, the form now automatically scrolls to any unanswered field, ensuring the error message is immediately visible.
That’s a wrap on this month’s updates! 🎉 We’re always working to make Doulado more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly for you and your clients. Your feedback plays a huge role in shaping these improvements, so please keep sharing your ideas and experiences with us. We can’t wait to bring you even more exciting updates next month—stay tuned!
