Editing a client profile

You can easily update a client’s basic information—like their name, email, address, phone number, birthdate, and timezone—right from overview page inside their profile.

🔐 What If I don't see "View profile" in the menu?

If the client has previously worked with another doula using Doulado, their profile may already exist in the system. In this case, you'll see a “Request Access” prompt. This is a privacy feature that ensures clients control who can see their information. Learn more about how Request Access works here.

Here's how to edit their profile:

  1. Go to your Clients list

From your main dashboard, click on "Clients" in the top menu to view your client list.

  2. Select the Client

Find the client whose information you want to edit. You can use the search bar to quickly locate them by name or email. Click on their name to open their client overview.

  3. Click the small 3 dot menu

In the top right corner of the client’s contact card, you’ll see small 3 dot menu. Click on that menu and select “View Profile.”

  1. Click “Edit Profile”

Once you’re in the profile view, look for the “Edit Profile” button.

  1. Make Your Changes

Update any of the following fields:

    • Name
    • Email
    • Phone Number
    • Date of Birth
    • Sex/Pronouns
    • Address
    • Timezone

  1. Save Your Changes

Once you're done editing, go through all of the pages, and click “Save” to confirm your updates.

💡 Helpful Tips

  • A client’s basic profile information (such as name, contact info, address, and birthdate) is shared across all journeys in Doulado—this keeps their contact data consistent no matter how many doulas they work with.
  • Clients can update their own profile information during onboarding or anytime through their client portal by accessing the main menu>view your profile>edit profile.
  • Only you and your assigned team members can view or manage the client’s journey-specific records—like notes, documents, or visit logs—within your own practice. These are not shared across doulas or organizations.
  • Keeping profile info accurate ensures smooth communication and helps avoid duplicate records.
