Adding personal business information as a team member
This article provides step-by-step instructions for doulas on how to add their personal business information—such as their National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Tax Identification Number (Tax ID)/SSN—so that it can auto-fill into a claim. By entering this information into their personal profile, doulas can ensure that their details are automatically populated into insurance claims, streamlining the billing process and reducing manual entry. Saving this information into your profile is ideal for those working collaboratively in group practices or organizations, and this guide simplifies the setup needed to support efficient and accurate claim submissions across a team!
In a team setting, doulas may be submitting their own claims, or the administrative or billing specialists may be submitting claims on behalf of the doulas! When a new claim is started, you can select who the "rendering provider" and "billing provider" for the claim is.
Rendering Provider
A "rendering provider" is the provider who directly provides the medical care or service to the client. This will always be an Individual NPI, regardless or not, if the billing provider information is the individual or the business. When the "rendering provider" is selected, and their NPI is saved into their profile, it will auto-fill their NPI into box 24J on the claim!
Billing Provider
If "also billing provider" is checked, it will also auto-fill that provider's business information (from their personal profile) into box 33. If the claim is being submitted with a Group NPI, and that box is left unchecked, it will auto-fill with the business information saved in the team business settings into box 33.
