As January comes to a close, we’re excited to share one more round of updates to Doulado! Whether you're just getting started or already making the most of our platform, these updates are designed to make your experience even better. Please check out the article below to learn more about each new improvement!

#1 Document Management

  • Printing Form Templates: Previously, you could not download an empty form template in Doulado because it is was in web-form only. You can now click on the 3 little dots, and view PDF of the form templates (similar to document templates). You can use this feature if you need a paper copy of your Doulado form templates for clients to fill out!


  • Mapping from Forms: We are thrilled to introduce form response mapping! This feature allows you to map information that clients enter into a form, to automatically collect and display data within your clients' profile as a custom field in the profile info section. To utilize this functionality, ensure that field presets are configured in Templates > Labels > Fields.



#2 Telehealth Calls

  • Integrated Telehealth: With a Team or Impact subscription, we are introducing a new Telehealth feature where you can now connect with your clients one-on-one in a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment. This new feature ensures your virtual meetings are private, confidential, and tailored to provide the personalized support your clients need—all within a safe and professional space.
  • Telehealth Access: Each meeting scheduled within the Doulado calendar will have a video call icon (if within a HIPPA Compliant plan). The doula can access the video button in the calendar event overview information, as well as in the client's visit log.

  • Client Access: Clients can access the "video room" through the event overview summary from their email link, as well as the appointment log inside their client portal. Be sure to include the fact that it is a virtual call as the location such as "Doulado Telehealth", "Virtual Call", or "Video Chat", etc.

The video icon will appear for all appointments, so that it is an available option should your needs change for the planned visit. If there is an actual address for the visit, the clients should be aware that the visit is planned in person!

#3 Network Email Lead Update

  • Updated Notification: We've refined the email notification for new networking leads to provide clearer communication that it is a "network lead". The subject line will now read: "New Network Contact in Doulado," and the email body will confirm the lead form title that they submitted from. This change helps better communicate client vs. network lead notifications!


#4 Client Profile Improvements

  • Apartment Numbers: Client apartment numbers will now be saved within their profile when selecting a google verified address, ensuring complete and accurate address information. Previously, the apartment number was disappearing when selecting a google address, and we fixed that issue!


  • Copy and Paste Phone Numbers: You can now easily copy and paste phone numbers into the client profile creation fields, just as you would with addresses. This enhancement simplifies data entry and minimizes errors.

#5 On-Call Schedule Enhancements

  • On-Call Scope Management: You can now add or remove leads from your on-call schedule based on their "status", giving you better control over your availability and workload. This feature provides a visual representation of how new leads fit into your practice.

  • Customizable On-Call Window Timeframe: Within the business settings tab of the calendar settings, you can now customize the on-call time frame that best suits your business. Adjust the number of days before and after your on-call period to align with your preferences. The default window is set to 38-42 weeks gestation, or 14 days before and 14 days after a due date.

#6 Invoice Updates

  • Editing Past Due Invoices: You now have greater control over managing past-due invoices. With this update, you can edit invoices that have outstanding amounts, including the ability to adjust due dates as needed to better align with your client's payment schedule.

  • Invoice Email Reminders: The invoice email reminders sent to your clients now include more detailed information, helping them stay on track with their payments. The reminders will now display:
      1. The current installment amount (if any)
      2. The due date for the current installment (if any)
      3. The total unpaid balance from any previous installments (if any)

NOTE: The information regarding the current installment will only be displayed if there are more than two installments and the current installment is not the final one.


#7 Expense Tracking Enhancements

  • Client-Specific Expenses: A new Expenses tab has been added within the client profile. If you create the expense within the client profile, it will automatically link to that client to track their associated expenses. If you add the new expense from the Billing section, you can type in the client's name to link it to them, or leave it blank.

  • New Export Filters: We've made updates to expense tracking for teams. Team owners now have full visibility of all team expenses, while team members will only see their individual expenses, ensuring privacy and efficiency in financial management. You can export with a specific date range, and/or a specific category.


  • Enhanced Expense Visibility: We’ve made improvements to expense permissions to better align with the way other features function. Now, expenses are only visible and editable to the appropriate individuals, ensuring greater privacy and control. These updates help maintain confidentiality while allowing seamless collaboration when needed.

On a team, participants and contributors can log individual client expenses from that client's profile, but not team wide expenses in the Billing section.
