Creating a Claim
Within Doulado, you have the ability to create and submit claims to Medicaid, Private Insurance, TRICARE, and other medical reimbursement payers. The following process can be used to create a claim within Doulado.
There are 2 ways to create claims: one from the Billing tab, where you can enter the date of service yourself, and another way from the Visits page, where the date and client are pre-filled.
It is important to note that the Claims processing feature can be enabled by request if you are subscribed to an annual Team (HIPAA) plan, or have an Impact plan.
Method #1: From the Billing tab
- From the main Dashboard you will select the option path the top for Billing
- Over on the left side of the screen, select the Claims tab
- Select the option in the top right +New Claim
- On the New Claim screen, enter all the information for your insurance claim (you can some of these details later if you don't know them right now)
- Client (select the client from the top down)
- Date (the date of service)
- OPTIONAL: Payer (the name of the insurance company you are filing a claim with)
- OPTIONAL: Place of Service (where the service was provided)
OPTIONAL: One or more services provided, including procedure code, modifiers and units.
NOTE: Payers will often provide billing guides that include codes and modifiers for specific types of appointments or services
- When you have entered all the information in press Continue
- In the next screen you will see the claim form.
- All commonly required fields are indicated in yellow, but it is likely your payer may need more information, so fill the claim out as completely as you can
- Once you have entered in all the required information click Submit in the upper right hand corner
- A box will open asking you to confirm
- Click Submit
Method #2: From a Visit
- Open the visit list in one of two ways:
- From the Clients tab, click on a client journey profile and select the Visits tab to see visits for that client
From the Billing tab, click Visits to see all visits
Click the Create Claim button (icon) next to the visit:
